I am a trainee relational integrative psychotherapist (a bit of a mouthful I know). As I begin to see clients I am documenting my journey in a blog. I am currently in my second year of training and really enjoying my training. I have always been passionate about helping people and am so thrilled that I can finally put this to practice through therapy.
Being a trainee therapist is one of the hats that I wear but my love affair with psychology and psychotherapy began many years ago when I started my degree in psychology. At that time I wanted to pursue a career as a psychologist /psychotherapist but was living abroad and unable to do the additional training at the time. So I have done many other things such as working in health and social care, running a baking business and teaching. First English as a foreign language and then psychology which I still do today. I also had 5 children along the way. I am currently a senior lecturer in psychology which I also love.
As well as documenting my journey as a trainee I will also post any tips and advice or interesting research around mental health and psychotherapy.
Until next time...
I hope you have found this post interesting as I embark on the next stage of my psychotherapy training journey.
I would love to hear from you so please do leave a comment below.
